RULES FOR PREPARATION OF ARTICLES TO ODESSA MEDICAL JOURNAL

    1. The “Odessa Medical Journal” publishes theoretical and review articles that reflect the important achievements of science, the results of completed original clinical and experimental studies, the main results of dissertations in medicine, biology and pharmacy, as well as memorial material.
    2. Issues articles with a total volume of up to 8 pages, reviews – up to 10 pages, original and other types of articles – up to 6 pages, short messages – up to 2 pages are accepted for consideration.
    3. Articles that have already been published in other editions or proposed for publication by several publications at the same time, as well as works that by their very nature are the processing of previously published articles and do not contain new scientific material or new scientific understanding of already known material, are not accepted.
    4. The journal publishes:
      1. Results of original research in the priority directions of development of medical, biological and pharmaceutical sciences;
      2. Work on fundamental problems of biology, medicine, pharmacology and pharmacy:
        • Genetics and applied aspects of medical genetics;
        • Biophysical and morphofunctional characteristics of the cells of the body at different types of pathology;
        • Work on the latest cell technologies;
        • The latest developments in the field of general and clinical pharmacology and pharmacy;
        • Achievements in the field of study of etiology, pathogenesis and diagnostics of modern diseases;
        • Disease prevention, vaccination, prevention of especially dangerous diseases;
      3. Reviews of current topical problems of biology, medicine and pharmacy;
      4. Information, chronicles, anniversaries.
    5. The article is sent to the editorial in two copies, signed by all authors. By their signatures, the authors guarantee that the article is written in compliance with the rules of preparing articles for the “Odessa Medical Journal”, experimental and clinical studies were performed in accordance with international ethical norms of scientific research, as well as provide the editorial staff the right to publish an article in the magazine, its placement and materials regarding Her on the site of the magazine and in other sources.
    6. The article is accompanied by a reference to the editorial office, certified by the signature of the head and seal of the institution where the work was done, and for domestic authors, also an expert opinion, allowing for an open publication.

    8. The text is printed in half the interval on a standard typewriter (width of the left, upper and lower 2 cm, right – 1 cm) in the font Arial (Arial Sug) or Times (Times Cyr) in the size of 14 points. The text page should contain no more than 100 lines.
    9. The language of the articles is Ukrainian for domestic authors, Russian and English for authors from other countries.
    10. The material of the article should be presented in the following way:
      1. UDC index;
      2. Initials and surname of the author (authors);
      3. Title of the article;
      4. Full name of the institution (institutions) where the work was performed, city, country;
      5. Problem statement in general and its connection with important scientific and practical tasks;
      6. Analysis of recent researches and publications in which the solution to this problem was initiated and on which the author relies;
      7. Allocation of previously unclaimed parts of the general problem, which is devoted to the article;
      8. Formulating the purpose of the article (statement of the task);
      9. A presentation of the main research material with a full substantiation of the scientific results obtained;
      10. Conclusions from this study and prospects for further developments in this direction;
      11. literature;
      12. Two summaries in Russian up to 800 letters (0.45 pages) and in English up to 1800 letters (1 page) in the following way: UDC index, initials and surname of the author (s), title of the article, resume text, key words (No more than five).
    11. The summary in English should briefly repeat the structure of the article, including the introduction, purpose and objectives, methods, results, conclusions, keywords. The initials and surname of the author (authors) are given in transliteration, the title of the article – translated into English. Keywords and other terms of the article should be consistent with the commonly accepted medical terms in the dictionaries. You should not use slang and abbreviations that are not universally applicable.
    12. Chemical and mathematical formulas are printed or typed. Structural formulas are drawn as drawings. In formulas mark: small and upper case letters (large denotes two risks from below, small ones – two risks from the top with a simple pencil); Latin letters are highlighted with a blue pencil; Greek – surrounded by a red pencil; Subordinate and superscript digits and letters are arranged with a simple pencil.
    13. The articles should use the International System of Units SI.
    14. The drawings (no more than two) and the signatures to them are executed separately. On the reverse side of each drawing, a simple pencil should indicate its number and the title of the article, and if necessary, indicate the top and bottom.
    15. Tables (no more than three) should be printed on separate pages, they must have a number and a name. In the fields of the manuscript, you must specify the location of the figures and tables. The information shown in the tables and figures should not be duplicated.
    16. List of literary sources should contain a list of works for the last 5 years and only in rare cases – earlier publications. In original works, cited no more than 10 sources, in reviews – up to 30. For each work in the list of literature should be a link in the text of the manuscript. The literature in the list is placed in accordance with the order of the references to it in the text of the article, which are given in square brackets, or in alphabetical order. If only one author works, they are placed in chronological order. The list of literary sources should not include works that have not yet been published.
    17. The list is presented in duplicate for each item of the article, which are printed separately from each other. The first copy is made in accordance with DSTU GOST 7.1: 2006. The second one – completely repeats the first, but the Latin for the following schemes.

For articles:

The author’s surnames and the name of the journal are translated into Latin, and the title of the article is translated into English.

For conference materials:

The surnames of the authors are given in transliteration, the name of the work – translated into English. The main thing in the descriptions of the conferences is the name of the conference in the original language (given in transliteration, if there is no English title), italicized. The brackets refer to the English translation. Output (place of the conference, place of publication, year, page) is in English.

For monographs and other books:

The authors’ surnames are given in transliteration, the title of the book is in italics in transliteration with a translation into English in square brackets. Place of publication, year of publication, total number of pages in English, name of publishing house in transliteration.

Note: in the list of Latin you must indicate all the authors of the literary source, which you refer to (DSTU GOST 7.1: 2006 does not provide this). Also, it should not be used in it the prescribed DSTU GOST 7.1: 2006 separation symbols: // and -. The name of the source (journal, conference, book) is always highlighted in italics.

Compliance with these rules will ensure the correct reflection of quoted sources in the vast majority of abstract scientometric databases.

  1.   5. The editorial staff reserves the right to editorially edit articles that do not distort their content, or return articles to the author to correct defects found. Articles sent to authors for corrections should be returned to the editorial office no later than three days after receipt.
  6. The date of receipt of the article to the magazine is the day when the editorial office of the final version of the text is received.
  7. The proofs are not sent to the authors, but if this does not violate the journal’s release schedule, it is possible to provide a preprint, in which only rectification errors and factual errors can be corrected.

ORDER OF RECOGNITION OF RULES OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES
WHICH SHALL BE BROUGHT FOR PUBLICATION IN THE EDITOR OF
“ODESSA MEDICAL JOURNAL”

Scientific articles that are submitted for publication in the editorial office of the “Odessa Medical Journal” are subject to review.

The reviewers of the magazine are experienced specialists – doctors of sciences, members of the editorial board of the magazine and its editorial board. If necessary, the editorial board involves third-party specialists in the review. Publication of a scientific article is allowed in writing by the members of the editorial board and editorial board.

During the review, the relevance of the article to the topic of the magazine and its title, relevance and scientific level, advantages and disadvantages, and the compliance of the execution of the article with the requirements of the editorial board are assessed. In the end, the conclusion is made on the expediency of publication.

The review is given to the author of the article on his request without a signature, indicating the name, position and place of work of the reviewer.

If the reviewer recommends correcting or refining the article, the editor sends the author a review text to make the changes work.

An author whose article was not accepted for publication, his request is sent to a motivated refusal. The article’s manuscript is not returned.

If the author does not agree with the opinion of the reviewer, he can give a motivated answer.

In case of need, in agreement with the author, an additional review of the manuscript may be carried out by another specialist.

The final decision on the publication of the article and its terms is taken by the editorial board.

In some cases, in the presence of a positive review, the publication of an article may be made by the decision of the editor-in-chief or his deputy.

After the decision on the publication of the article, the editorial board informs the author of the publication indicating the date of publication.

The original reviews are kept in edition for 1 year.

      • Literature – no more than 15 sources;
      • Two resumes in the language of the article and in English up to 800 letters each according to the following scheme: UDC index, initials and surname of the author (authors), title of the article, summary text, keywords (no more than five) for authors from the CIS countries and English and Russian – from other countries.

      The problem article with the total volume of up to 10 pages contains the author’s view of the actual problems. Structure of the article – by author’s wish. If the specified amount is exceeded, a preliminary agreement with the editorial board is necessary.

      The review article should be a total of up to 12 pages; List of literature – no more than 40 sources.

      Letters to the magazine with a total volume of up to 1.5 pages are intended to discuss materials contained in the journal “Integrative Anthropology” or in other editions.

      Reviews of a total volume of up to 2 pages contain information about new books, CD ROMs, exhibitions, seminars and films according to the topic of the magazine.

RULES FOR PREPARATION OF ARTICLES TO THE JOURNAL “CLINICAL ANESTHESIOLOGY AND INTENSIVE THERAPY”

 

    1. The journal “Clinical Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care” publishes theoretical and review articles that reflect the important achievements of science, the results of completed original clinical and experimental studies, the main results of dissertations in medicine, as well as materials of a memorial nature.

 

    1. Issues articles with a total volume of up to 10 pages, reviews – up to 15 pages, original researches and other types of articles – up to 10 pages, short messages – up to 2-3 pages are accepted for consideration.

 

    1. Articles that have already been published in other editions or proposed for publication by several publications at the same time are not accepted, as well as works that in their essence are the processing of previously published articles and do not contain new scientific material or new scientific understanding of already known material.

 

    1. The journal publishes materials in the following headings:
      1) original research;
      2) problems of anesthesiology and intensive care;
      3) clinical cases;
      4) experimental anesthesiology;
      5) reviews;
      6) materials of congresses, congresses, conferences;

The summary should briefly repeat the structure of the article, including the introduction, purpose and objectives, methods, results, conclusions, keywords. The initials and surname of the author (authors) are given in transliteration, the title of the article – translated into English. Keywords and other terms of the article should be consistent with the commonly accepted medical terms in the dictionaries. You should not use slang and abbreviations that are not universally applicable.
